Researcher at Signal Processing Laboratory,
Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas
Assistant Professor, Department of Music Technology and Acoustics, Technical Educational Institute of Crete, Greece
Nikolaos Stefanakis received his Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA, in 2008. In the academic year 2009 to 2010 he was a laboratory assistant in the Technical Educational Institute of Crete (TEI-Crete). In 2011 he was recruited as a postdoc researcher at INRIA-Rennes, and in 2012 as a postdoc researcher at the University of Potsdam. Since 2014 he is an affiliated researcher at the Institute of Computer Science in FORTH, working for several Greek and EU-funded projects. In 2018 he was elected an assistant professor at the Department of Music Technology and Acoustic Engineering of TEI-Crete. His research interests include room acoustics, modeling of musical instruments and acoustic signal processing with emphasis on microphone arrays, acoustic sensor networks, immersive audio environments and spatial audio.
